Job Description


Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technical support to the entire Company, as well as for Payroll networks’ product and services on client installations. The Technical Specialist will troubleshoot PC, network, and Internet problems as they relate to hardware, software, data communications and/ or client errors. Remote problem solving will require the use of Internet connectivity and Internet products such as Ilinc for trouble shooting and training. 

The Technical Specialist continually upgrades knowledge and skill sets relating to new products, existing services and new technologies as they relate to products and services offered by the company and its competitors.


Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, and implement custom payroll reports and other report writers and interface files
  • Aid in the development of import and export files between other systems and the Company products
  • Provide on-going technical training to team members and clients
  • Recreate client environments in the company testing environment in an effort to resolve client issues
  • Perform hardware/ operating system review for all new and re-installations for single and multi-users
  • Troubleshoot software installation, configuration and setup issues
  • Provide primary technical support to team members and clients
  • Assisting in remote software installations for clients
  • Developing, maintaining and documenting application programs
  • Setting up training, and maintaining time keeping software for clients
  • Develop a file import & export process that can be seamlessly integrated into the services provided to the Company’s clients


Non Essential Duties:

  • Other related or new duties may be assigned to the Technical Specialist in other areas of the Company to provide additional backup and support.




Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous training, certification and education from Microsoft and other IT leaders desirable
  • Payroll and accounting curriculum is a plus
  • 2 plus years of experience in a Business environment involved with PC Support for payroll and accounting 
  • Technical knowledge of Windows PC; Proven proficiency of in the utilization of PC’s in Business applications is essential
  • Working knowledge of Windows XP, Vista, and 7 operating systems is required
  • Knowledge of servers (Windows and Linux), workstations and printers is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • High volume Call Center/ Help Desk background preferred
  • Payroll knowledge is a plus
  • TCP/IP protocol Knowledge is a plus
  • SQL Server knowledge is desirable
