DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) seeks Graphic Design and Digital Media Specialist (GDDMS) to join our dynamic team and support our mission of using food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities. As a nationally acclaimed, well-respected nonprofit, DCCK is poised to achieve new levels of local and national prominence. We are looking for candidates with a strong graphic design background with experience executing digital media content for nonprofits, social enterprises, and/or political activism efforts. This position requires an understanding of how meaningful online engagement connects to fundraising, and at least an intermediate level of technical digital media and graphic design abilities.
The Graphic Design and Digital Media Specialist is responsible for designing all online and print collateral as well as strategic and operational activities relating to DCCK’s online presence and visibility. This position is responsible for ensuring the generation of high-quality, ongoing, and focused content for DCCK websites, email newsletters, and social media channels. The GDDMS manages DCCK’s digital media properties and provides creative and technical support for DCCK’s websites, social media channels, email marketing database, and online advertising platforms. The GDDMS is also responsible for search engine optimization activities, web-based advertising strategies and implementation, web-related CRM activities, and technical oversight of our WordPress website. The GDDMS reports to the Associate Director of Communications.
This position is structured within the organization as part of the Development and Communications team, and development forms a significant aspect of the position’s work and measurement of success. As a primary brand ambassador for DC Central Kitchen with our highly engaged audience of local supporters, the GDDMS will create a level of compelling online engagement throughout the year that connects our community to the work we do, and inspires participation as volunteers, donors, and attendees at our legendary annual fundraising events. The GDDMS also collaborates closely with their counterpart for DCCK’s national program, The Campus Kitchens Project, to share ideas and best practices for social media strategy and evaluation, share responsibilities, and complement one another’s efforts.
