Job Description

Private surgical urology practice with a low volume of CT/Xray studies is looking for a CT/Xray Tech

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversight of the Radiology department including ACR compliance
  • Maintain Federal Regulations regarding Radiology practice
  • Maintain log books per Federal regulations
  • Follow all CT and X-ray procedures
  • Responsible for CT department authorizations and scheduling
  • Communicate with other office personnel to ensure that Radiology scheduling, patient instructions, check-in and check-out procedures are in place, understood and consistently followed
  • Perform Radiology procedures including IVP, VCUG, X-ray (KUB) and Cystograms
  • Coordinate the transfer of CT images to the internal eFilm workstation as well as through point to point network of the reading radiologist using a secure VPN. Copy file for patients as appropriate, prepare images for delivery to physicians and return outside images as needed
  • Run daily/weekly calibration testing to ensure equipment is in working order
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with appropriate vendors as needed
  • Maintain adequate inventory of CT supplies - non-ionic contrast, IV solutions and needles, etc.
  • Collect data, prepare reports, answer correspondence and compile statistics as directed
  • Attend in-service and other meetings to keep current on organizational activities and materials, and management trends
  • Assist team members when needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with office policies and procedures and HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Exercise utmost discretion with patient and staff interactions.

Requirements

Requirements Include:

Knowledge of standard policies, procedures and protocols to manage and operate the CT equipment for the practice. Knowledge of radiology standards for CT to evaluate image quality, equipment performance and testing. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to pinpoint area for scanning. Knowledge of safety requirements and ability to recognize and correct hazardous conditions. Skill in starting IV's and working automated injectors. Skill in training coworkers as appropriate in equipment operations and procedures. Skill in writing reports and preparing correspondence. Skill in developing departmental policies and quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Skill in identifying and resolving problems. Ability to collect and analyze statistics and other data. Ability to communicate clearly.

Minimum Training and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED. Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • Knowledge of GE equipment preferred

Certification/Licenses:

  •  Registered Diagnostic Technician license with ARRT and Arizona state CT license
