SUMMARY

We are seeking a materials science / chemistry expert to support our academic collaboration and new product development program.  The successful candidate should be a materials science chemist, preferably with 5 years of organic synthesis research experience.  The candidate will be required to have a broad understanding of TCI products and the reagent chemical industry overall with one year of hire.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contact researchers who are doing academic research in universities.
  • Build good relationships with academic researchers in the U.S.  This will require a two-way collaboration - not only gaining ideas but also offering information about TCI products and techniques to develop business.
  • Work with Marketing Department to identify and market academic researchers focusing on important and  'hot' categories especially in the U.S. market.
  • Manage the full process for the products commercialization

Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D degree or equivalent in materials science / chemistry, organic electronics, physical chemistry, or a closely related materials science field focusing on organic materials, organic/inorganic hybrid materials, preferably with 5 years of experience using reagents in materials science.
  2. Must have strong background in organic chemistry
  3. Some experience in Polymer Science also desirable
  4. Ability to work independently and to interact with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, sales, marketing and external  collaborators.
