ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist in preparing restaurant for service.
• Greet all guests and co-workers in a warm, personal, friendly manner.
• Review menus with guests and answer questions about menu items, offering descriptions and making recommendations. Inform guests of daily specials including pricing if not listed on the menu. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Follow T S protocol and inform manager on duty for all noted guest allergies.
• Take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol.
• Serve food and beverages to guests, taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required.
• Describe and recommend wines to guests; bring selection to table with appropriate glasses and pour.
• Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. Prepare table for next guest.
• Prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
• Perform food preparation duties as required such as preparing side salads and desserts. Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving as required.
• Prepare and present guest checks, ensuring any special requests are followed (such as split checks), and collect corresponding payments.
• Assist the entire service team throughout meal period to ensure all guest expectations are exceeded.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
• Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns; personal, employee or guest injury.
• Follow food safety program guidelines of handwashing, bare hands, hygiene and health.
